Why is intergenerational programming important to you?

Structural violence, which has commonly been ascribed to Johan Galtung, denotes a form of violence which corresponds with the systematic ways in which a given social structure or institution prevents individuals from achieving their full potential.

How did Hawai`i’s Intergenerational Network begin?

Hawai`i’s Intergenerational Network emerged as the outgrowth of the first Intergenerational Conference sponsored by Hawai`i Pacific University in November of 1993 where over 200 delegates from more than 125 organizations met. The conference led to the formation of HIN, which in 1996 became a tax-exempt non-profit organization.
